Starcraft 2 Verdict : Dont Buy

I'm going to do an about face on my earlier optimism and give a "Dont Buy" verdict to Starcraft 2. Why?

1) The campaign game is great but  you only get a portion of the story and the AI isnt very challenging. I might pay $60 for the full story.
2) The RTS/multiplayer is too limited and simple compared to other games out there. Warcraft 3 is 1000x more interesting with hereos and creeps ect and the graphics of Starcraft 2 arnt a whole lot better. Games start to feel repetitive very quickly since there are only 2-3 strats races can go with. I feel they saved too much for the expansions.
3) You are denied access to the entire product without an internet connection. You can not even get into the game to look at unit information or old replays. RTS games are great for quick entertainment while waiting at the bus station or between classes and this game is completely useless for that. No playing on the bus, in a bar, no playing on a plane or in a car. If for what ever reason your internet is down at home you can not even open the game.

So I feel the price point is at gouging and the forced social networking/net validation is an unacceptable intrusion. The mulitplayer isnt the fun after you've played few times..there just isnt enough depth. The campaign is nice but not worth $60 at only 1/3 of the content.

So my vote :: Dont Buy!

Quotes

At a certain stage the realization strikes through that one must either live outside of society's bonds or die of absolute boredom. There is no future or freedom in the circumscribed life and the only other life is complete rejection of the rules. There is no longer room for the soldier of fortune or the gentleman adventurer who can live both within and outside of society. Today it is all or nothing. To save my own sanity I chose the nothing.
