Government brings you :: "Poop Fairys"

Heh someone in Denver must've been really high to come up with this idea...cute though..I suppose can swallow a little (government) waste when its implemented in a creative way. Oh and I dont miss walking a dog AT ALL.

Obama's newest war

Via Orbusmax, an interesting read about US and Turkish build up around Syria's boarders. Apparently we are orcastrating regime change there...but Sshhhhhh! dont tell anyone its the US behind it.

"The United States cannot be seen as being involved in regime change in Syria, but it is clear that Assad must go for the sake of regional stability,"

What is the difference between what Bush did with governments he didnt like and what Obama is doing now?

Who's side are you on ?

Hillary Clinton is an idiot. I dont know how anyone can respect a women who stays with a guy who made their marriage in to a punchline ..but regardless today she showed her colors in a press briefing about Libya. Sounding very much like George W. Bush, she used the old "if you are arnt with us argument".

I'm on the side of the American taxpayer who thinks you are transferring wealth to the military industrial complex just to carry on a grudge you clearly had with Libya from Bills presidency. I'm on the side that says - You work for us and we elected you to get us out of war ASAP not start new ones and expand the old ones. I'm damn glad she didnt get elected president and ya gotta maybe wonder if she thinks she is Dick Chaney..another reason not to vote for Obama again btw.

Zachary Nelson : Product of DSHS

There is a story in today's paper about a teen DSHS is planning on civily commiting This kid gets to spend the rest of his life on McNeil Island. And we arnt talking about some kid in the 70s here with the standards of that decade..This guy is a teenager now. Today.

Now I could make an interesting topic on how civil commitment is un-American nonsense and completely unjust. But the real story here is how Zack, at the age of 4, was decided to be a pervert and regularly exposed to "sexual treatment" by the wonderful psychiatric system at DSHS.

7yo dies CPS knew and did nothing

Yet another child has died because  no one will try reform the DSHS. This case sound alot like the complaint I made about the father driving around on drugs with his kids, or the father with chronic seizures being allowed to transport his kids...and DSHS doing nothing about it.

Be part of the Process

Obama is going to announce a plan to withdraw a whole 30k troops from Afghanistan in time for the next election. Thats the 30k HE sent there who prob are at the end of their tour anyway and in no way addresses the rest of the 70K or an end to this pointless effort that he promised to change if he was elected. So whats a guy to do? Support people who you would like to replace him. In this case its going to be a republican because no democrats will run against and independents are unelectable.

In my previous post A republican you can get behind I suggested people support Gary Johnson, a republican candidate who is a fiscal conservative who's record is moderate on social issues. I would put forth anthother republican candidate that I think people could vote for instead of Obama. That would be John Huntsman who announced his plan to run today.

Neither of these guy are going to get the republican nod if "independents" dont get off their butt and involve themselves in Republican caucuses. It will go to one of the crazy social conservatives because those are the people who care enough to be involved in Primary elections.

When the choices for president ends up a choice between two evils, blame yourself not the system. And just incase you are holding out hope that the American Military can solve the tribal issues in the middle east that have been going on for 3000+ years..check out how we are doing with our own sectarian conflicts

Naps and Bed Wetting

I was listening to doctor radio on XM/Serius on my way to lunch and a pediatrician was talking about how, if you have a baby who wakes up a lot at night you shouldn't let the baby nap during the day. Sounds like Duh. What was interesting to me was his explanation of how naps affect the sleep cycle. I guess naps are special because for some reason with a nap the body dives straight into the deep sleep (rem3) cycle which it doesn't necessarily do when you go to bed at night. The baby napping in the day is using up its needed deep sleep time so when something bothers it at night it wakes up instead of sleeping through it.

This got me thinking, if you have a child who sleeps deeply so as not be woken up at night by the urge to pee, one solution might be to make that child take a nap during the day and use up some of that deep sleep time. In theory the child would need less deep sleep, and spend more time sleeping at a shallow level, where they might be able to wake themselves.

Obama's Wars

So I dont think we should have gone into Libya but that said there are kids suffering dying everywhere in the middle east at the moment. Obviously this clip is well scripted by turkey (no garbage no latrines) but there still are real people who have been harmed by our action or inaction. When you go to the ballot box next time please THINK about who your are electing and whether they stand for meaningful change or just more of the same. (making no choice is as bad as picking the wrong choice because the right one never gets done)

Painted Cats

In my feline research I've come across some strange ideas...but this one is actually pretty kool. (Yes the butthole is the necktie)

Vinnie, being primarily white, would make an excellent canvas.

pet food confusion

I bought Wellness cat food at Petco today..after spending like a hours evaluating the ingredients of the various products. It gets good ratings on the internet too...but then there is this video..it looks like a fake..I mean really thats a LOT of bones..and my product doesnt seem to have any...but still

Picking Republicans

"Choosing Life" is a still a huge roadblock for my support of Republicans..but Mitt Romney has refused to sign anything holding him to that position..in order to get elected politicians are going to lie to some section of the people in order to try and get their votes. I'd rather have a politician like Romney who lies to the Religious wackos than a guy like Obama that lies to everyone about getting us out of the War(s).

The two other Republican presidential candidates who have not yet signed the pledge are former federal banker Herman Cain and former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson.

Trent and the Lion

Boston in 7 ?

ESPN is calling for Boston to win tonight's Stanley Cup Finals. I think its totally up in the air - the Canucks play completely inconsistently from one game to the next and Boston really has nothing but a hot goalie - which can be everything in the Cup. I will be routing for Boston - partially because Choose to Lose is in effect and they wont have my tears - and partially because of predictions like this ::

"The dive"
Against which Bruins player will Maxim Lapierre feign a ghastly injury in Game 7 in the hopes of drawing a penalty? Having pretended to have been impaled by Chara in Game 5, we are guessing he will throw himself to the ice like a sack of potatoes when he brushes against Johnny Boychuk or fling himself into the end glass while passing Adam McQuaid.
Prediction: We'll see it."

I have felt at times that I've been watching soccer with all the flopping the euro-trash players on the Canucks have been doing. "Working" for penalties is about un-hockey as can be - this is a sport where you punch someone in the face if you dont like their play - you dont depend on some dude with a whistle to win nor fall down on the ground crying like a frenchie. I want Vancouver to win - but like the Canucks with Mark Messier, this Canuck team is a bunch of jerks and posers and if they arnt going to win right they shouldnt win at all.

Mormons

Interesting read

No question the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is “having a moment.” Not only is Romney running again—this time, he’s likely to be competing against his distant Mormon cousin Jon Huntsman Jr. The Senate, meanwhile, is led by Mormon Harry Reid. Beyond the Beltway, the Twilight vampire novels of Mormon Stephenie Meyer sell tens of millions of copies, Mormon convert Glenn Beck inspires daily devotion and outrage with his radio show, and HBO generated lots of attention with the Big Love finale. Even Broadway has gotten in on the act, giving us The Book of Mormon, a big-budget musical about Mormon missionaries by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q writer Robert Lopez that, with 14 nominations, is expected to clean up at the Tony Awards on June 12.

Dori has it right when he questions why government can find money for this sorta project but none for teachers and the like.

There is a war going on

Against the Homeless of St. Petersburg. Now honestly I'm on the mayors side on this cause you cant go anywhere in downtown without being hit up for change. More importantly I see obviously mentally ill people every day I go out and thats just not safe.

Yet the way they are going about this is war is pretty lame. Today the weekend farmers market is being held in Willaims park. Williams park is one giant homeless tent camp and I really wonder who they think is going to go to this farmers market. If you want to clean out Willaims park just send the cops in and do it..dont try to push the homeless out through commerce. Also..I really dont want my tax dollars going to pay for homeless people to spend time in jail. What the point? We need indenturing laws in this county that put people to work that otherwise would just consume resources.

Who should Pay ? DSHS pays out 7.3 million

While this settlement will likely come from insurance money, the trickle down effect of it will most adversely effect the people in need of services and education. And not the people who were responsible for making sure this sort of thing didnt happen. I saw no mention of state workers being fired and the rich people who know there is a problem and do nothing wont feel the effect of loss of services. The system isnt going to fix itself.

Quotes

At a certain stage the realization strikes through that one must either live outside of society's bonds or die of absolute boredom. There is no future or freedom in the circumscribed life and the only other life is complete rejection of the rules. There is no longer room for the soldier of fortune or the gentleman adventurer who can live both within and outside of society. Today it is all or nothing. To save my own sanity I chose the nothing.
