The Tribes

"From a legal standpoint, it still boggles my mind -- that there would be no recourse to challenge illegal acts of Washington state officials because the matter touches in some fashion on Indian tribes," said Phil Talmadge, one of AUTO's attorneys and a former state Supreme Court justice. "That just doesn't make any sense."

I'm of the opinion that the so called Native American tribes in America are just a legalized form of organized crime. A way for a small number of wealthy families to avoid things like taxes, fair labor laws and law enforcement in general. 'Coarse the plight of children on or involved with native families isnt a good enough reason to challenge the absurd legal status of the tribes. No, it comes down to people looking to make money, since the successful amongst us already have money and thus dont care.

Quotes

At a certain stage the realization strikes through that one must either live outside of society's bonds or die of absolute boredom. There is no future or freedom in the circumscribed life and the only other life is complete rejection of the rules. There is no longer room for the soldier of fortune or the gentleman adventurer who can live both within and outside of society. Today it is all or nothing. To save my own sanity I chose the nothing.
