Ripple

I heard a great quote from Robert Kennedy today in regards to the dictator standing down in Egypt. To those who say that one person cant change the system:

"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."

I may not succeed in changing the system..but perhaps in concert with 100s of others change can eventually occur.

I know that Robert Kennedy was a good man with a good heart, but he died in 1964. 47 years ago the world was a very different place.
Change worked then, because we were less busy and had less options.

Quotes

At a certain stage the realization strikes through that one must either live outside of society's bonds or die of absolute boredom. There is no future or freedom in the circumscribed life and the only other life is complete rejection of the rules. There is no longer room for the soldier of fortune or the gentleman adventurer who can live both within and outside of society. Today it is all or nothing. To save my own sanity I chose the nothing.
