Reaching 7 and beyond

The nuclear disaster in Japan is now quantified as a "7", scaling it equal to Chernobyl. As the scale only goes to 7 it may actually be worse. Only a count of the extra arms and eyeballs Korean schoolchildren grow will tell.

And its going to get worse not better. By this time in the disaster Chernobyl was capped by a concrete dome theoretically keeping any future emissions contained. Since there are 3 melted cores vs 1 (and a hot storage pond) there is just too much radioactivity to build a new containment structure. The Japanese government is stuck now..maybe for decades poring water into those cores to cool them until they are finally cool enough to approach. If something stops that very ad libed cooling process the disaster could start all over again.

Do you mean Japanese children. Not Korean children. That picture is horrible.

Read the story. The radiation is getting into the weather and falling in Korea. 1000s of gallons of radioactive water is constantly being dumped into the pacific ocean and going god knows where. This disaster will be still be being clean up in 100 years. We'll start to see the global health effects in 10.

The pig is beautiful on the inside, right ?

Quotes

At a certain stage the realization strikes through that one must either live outside of society's bonds or die of absolute boredom. There is no future or freedom in the circumscribed life and the only other life is complete rejection of the rules. There is no longer room for the soldier of fortune or the gentleman adventurer who can live both within and outside of society. Today it is all or nothing. To save my own sanity I chose the nothing.
