The 13 year cicades have been
spotted rising from the ground in South Carolina. . It basically hibernates for 13 years then pops up long enough to breed and repeat the cycle. The constant chirping you hearing pretty much anywhere in the south is the 1 yr hibernating versions. I understand the 13 year are much louder. This is a bug with long term plans.
