Cincinnati built a subway system its never used

Got this one off Fark..apparently in the early 1900's the Cincinnati used a system of canals to transport goods around the city. When trains became the norm however someone got the idea of converting some of those canals to into underground rail. Quiet a bit of it got built before the war and city politics causes delay after delay. Now the land is used for parks, except for the underground part which is locked up and home to who knows what government secrets.

Quotes

At a certain stage the realization strikes through that one must either live outside of society's bonds or die of absolute boredom. There is no future or freedom in the circumscribed life and the only other life is complete rejection of the rules. There is no longer room for the soldier of fortune or the gentleman adventurer who can live both within and outside of society. Today it is all or nothing. To save my own sanity I chose the nothing.
