Each with over 10 million "suns"

Here is a mind blowing science story from BBC. The Plank telescope has captured pictures of the largest galaxies ever seen. Think about this for a moment..we are one planet, third rock of many circling one star, one of an estimated 200 million stars, a clump aka galaxy of stars we call the Milky way. And ours is pretty small. For example the closest galaxy to us, Andromeda, has an estimated 1.5 TRILLION suns.

Scientists have recently charted some of the largest Galaxies, most so large that crossing them, even at the speed of Light, would take 100s of thousands of our years. There are an estimated 170 billion galaxies out there. The number of suns gets too large to write without notation and the number of earths is unfathomable. Why havnt we seen life ? Not because its rare but because the universe is frikken huge!!! Even with the best estimates in the Drake equation, dividing civilization equally amounts the starts would put the closest civilization to us 1500 light years away. 1500 years to send a message at the speed of light and another 1500 years to receive a reply assuming the reply was instantaneous. Thats what you call snail mail.

Quotes

At a certain stage the realization strikes through that one must either live outside of society's bonds or die of absolute boredom. There is no future or freedom in the circumscribed life and the only other life is complete rejection of the rules. There is no longer room for the soldier of fortune or the gentleman adventurer who can live both within and outside of society. Today it is all or nothing. To save my own sanity I chose the nothing.
