Angry Joe reviews Torchlight 2

I was going to do a blogpost about my beta experience playing Torchlight 2 but Angry Joe did a fairly  good job and has video to boot. Verdict : Buy it as soon as it come out! $20 is an excellent price for this awesome game that wont rot your soul and make you an irresponsible consumer like spending money on Diablo3 would. And if you cant go another minute without playing a mouse clicker dungeon crawl order Titan Quest Immortal throne from the internet. Great game with an ancient mythology theme and loads of different character class combos to experiment with.

Dog news!

On behalf of Duane "Dog" and Beth Chapman, here is a statement:   Prior to A&E making a decision not to renew the series "Dog the Bounty Hunter," the parties involved were unable to reach an agreement for the 9th season.   Dog and Beth stated, "This has been a great ride for 8 seasons and we would not be where we are today but for our loyal and dedicated fans. We are about to start a new chapter, and an announcement will be made sooner rather than later. You can't keep a good Dog down."   Thanks,   Marty Singer Attorney and Spokesperson for the Chapmans

Also the people have spoken - other networks out to capture Dog!

$70 Million was not enough to keep the studio alive

Curt Shillings gaming company, 38 Studios went belly up after making 70 million dollars on their last product. Makes no sense to me...how can they not afford to pay their workers after generating 70 million dollars in profit?(click on the picture for larger view)

Gov. of WA flies to DC to oppose military spending cuts

Apparently Haliburton and Co. have won as the US has reached the point where we cant cut military spending without spiking unemployment and damaging the economy. Or so Gregoire seems to think. Why does she need to fly there in person? How are we suppose to cut the budget without cutting military spending or raising taxes? Le Sigh.

We are having this problem in Florida too..Apparently cuts to defense will destroy the aerospace industry in Florida

UW to exclusively train social workers/foster parents

Via the Seattle Times DSHS and the UW just inked a deal for the University of Washington to handle the training of all DSHS personal as well as foster parents. I got my training through Everett Community College and Compass Children's Mental Health Centers. I'm not quite sure what the benefit of this arrangement will be..other than making the programs seem more illustrious coming from a University. I cant imagine it lowering the cost or increasing attendance.

Time mag cover

Via the Dori Monsen show - IMHO Breastfeeding like dipers, pacifier and strollers needs to be abandoned as early as possible for the sake of the child. Is it horrible or sick or whatever..not really..but its not good parenting. These "baby time" crutches exist because the parents are often too lazy or selfish to do the work to move their child toward the next developmental step.

After 3 Days - Stupid School list

In just three days of "working" with Pinellas Schools I've been inspired to make list.

White House visitor log requires listing unborn child

I'm not sure if this is Obama pandering to the Right or just the secret service being retarded..but apparently the Director of the White House visitor office confirms when registering your party you must list unborn feti as individual guests. Seriously?

Quotes

At a certain stage the realization strikes through that one must either live outside of society's bonds or die of absolute boredom. There is no future or freedom in the circumscribed life and the only other life is complete rejection of the rules. There is no longer room for the soldier of fortune or the gentleman adventurer who can live both within and outside of society. Today it is all or nothing. To save my own sanity I chose the nothing.
