It has been very sad to watch some of the "worlds" I've spent time in over the last 2 decades change over from quality to quantity as a meter of success. There was a time when a game was suppose to be deep and hard, where there were winners and losers, and it was enough for a company to have a solid group of fans to be a success. As the gaming industry has become more profitable games have stopped beign about a journey to success, which leads to winners and losers, and have rather become a giant fetid pool were everyone gets to bathe. Removing the economic barrier and letting everyone play is great for poor kids I suppose..but its brought the bar down so low that nothing feels like an accomplishment anymore. Now, instead of being good, you can just buy success. The best gear belongs to the people willing to spend the end cash, not the people who took the time to earn it.
