TV lawyer to represent 9yo in shooting case
Why is this publicity hound being allowed to represent the child shooter instead of a lawyer more familiar with juvenile justice system..or you know..children? Law is such a broken field corrupted by $$

Another nut job offs their kids -but which nut job was it?
Story out of Jacksonville, Fl today of a mother and 2 kids found shot dead. I swear we have one of these every week. The police arnt commenting on how they were killed but also arnt looking for anyone implying that the mother killed her kids then herself. However the husband did just get out of jail in Ohio 2 weeks ago, where he was serving time for sending the mother threatening texts. Fathers are so unfairly treated by the "system" that I'm going to guess she was a serious nut job and his efforts to protect his kids got him in trouble. I guess we'll find out. Update : The father is confirmed to still be in Ohio and the mother was in a recent car accident that left her without use of her legs..looking like mom got overwhelmed by her problems and pulled a murder suicide.Be interesting to see if pain killers played a role here.Update 2 : Sheriff confirms mother did the killing. Mother lost her legs in car accident texting while driving.
Is it time to say if parents cant keep their marriage together the kids need to be placed in foster care for the duration of the divorce? Is it time to move away from this archaic prehistoric 2 parent concept and have our future raised in bordering schools by multiple adults so if one flake out the kid harm is minimized?
How does one grieve over this? If you are the caseworker assigned to this family how tdo you go through life knowing you may have missed the signs..or if it was the father, how does the judge or correction officers who let him out life with this guilt?
I wonder if we havnt seen God around lately because he was crushed under the weight of human tragedy. .

9yo didnt shoot classmate - You did
The Seattle Time makes it abundantly clear that this shooting case is another story of DSHS using a kid to rehab 2 failed adults. When you leave a child in the custody of 2 people with multiple drug convictions who is surprised when that child shows up with a gun at school. But can we blame DSHS for being what it is ? Is an overgrown thistleful garden the garden's fault or the gardener. Without naming names I can think of several people who have spent thousands or millions of dollars on themselves but baulk at the idea of spending large amounts of money and make an effort to properly reform government.

Faster than Light particles were a buggy cable
Einstein is still King of the Ring when it comes to particle physics. Particles judged to be moving faster than the speed of light last year turned out to be just an error. We can still dream...

Irrefutable proof that dog people have questionable taste. Are we sure that this is actually a dog and not some sort of fuzzy hedgehog? When I think "dog" ..that aint it.

Grumblings on a bad day
Grumble grumble. I went to one of these Florida food truck rallys everyone is talking about and it was hugely disappointing. There were like 4 bakery/donut/funnel cake trucks, a pizza truck and 3 actual food trucks with lines miles long. I ended up getting chicken in a sweet bun which wasnt bad but where was the hot dog truck ? The sandwich truck ? The taco truck? I swear there is more food variety at the weekly farmers market. At least there you can get a Gyro.
One of my kids had a hockey game today and lost it 8-0. Wasnt his teams fault - their goalie is a beginner and the opponet goalie was making Hassek style saves. But it wasnt any fun to watch. And my kid kept passing it in front of his net. People are still coming up to me and telling me how amazing he skates for only first stepping on the ice 6 months ago. Boy is that a double edged sword when you've just lost 8-0 and your team is depending on you to score on one of the 5-6 break away he gets per game.
At one of the intermissions the league director informed me he'd just been fired and people might start asking why my kids havnt paid since he had apparently not informed his bosses of the decision to permit my kids to play for free.
My older kid was suppose to play a double header for a bantam league team that invited him to join them after he practiced with them last week but the arena director vetoed it - and never told me about this wonderful decision. So we are on time and dressed to play hockey and the kid is rightly upset that he didnt get to play this week and I'm left telling him they wont let him play with kids his age because hes too small. And were are both frustrated with this line of reasoning since there are kids of similar size and younger than him on this team..so what is it really about? I feel like I failed since the 9yo gets to play 3 games this weekend while the 13yo got to play zero.

Brainbow
Scientists at Harvard express gay pride by painting individual neurons on a mouse brain each a different color. It got me thinking...everything in biology comes down to reproduction in some form or another. Except brain cells. Is intelligence un-biological?

Cant kill them fast enough
The horribly abused foster child in Florida has started talking about all the different abuses he and his sisters suffered. The caseworkers that failed to protect these kids are still keeping their jobs. I say you cant kill them fast enough. Throw the abusers AND the neglectors off the closest cliff you can find. I dont want valueless people lingering around to do more damage and I dont want to pay for them to sit in jail. In other news the guy in Washington used a hatchet on his 7 and 9yo sons before blowing them up.
After we hold accountable the directly involved I say we round up all the apathetic uninvolved rich people coasting through life and send them to liberate Syria or something.

Perspective
Here is a nifty little diagramming program that gives you an idea of scale from the tiniest particle to our galaxy and beyond. We are really a speck of a speck of a speck. For example I was reading somewhere that the 3 star in Orions belt, Betelgeuse, is 600 times the size of our sun.

Quotes
At a certain stage the realization strikes through that one must either live outside of society's bonds or die of absolute boredom. There is no future or freedom in the circumscribed life and the only other life is complete rejection of the rules. There is no longer room for the soldier of fortune or the gentleman adventurer who can live both within and outside of society. Today it is all or nothing. To save my own sanity I chose the nothing.
